You didn't get to this position by accident. Your unwavering commitment to your organization's mission is the fuel that drives you. You're known for your big ideas and an even bigger heart. But in the whirlwind of board meetings, grant proposals, and community outreach, have you ever paused to consider your executive presence?

Sure, you know how to command a room...but what kind of impression lingers long after you've left?

What is Executive Presence?

Let's break it down. Executive presence isn't just about fancy clothes and a perfectly rehearsed elevator pitch (though those don't hurt!). It's the combination of qualities that make people sit up straighter when you speak and inspire stakeholders to open their wallets and their hearts. It's about how you carry yourself, your mindset, and how you communicate.

Why Should Nonprofit Leaders Care?

As a CEO, your executive presence is your organization's calling card. Think of it this way:

  3. Mind Over Matter: Watch your body language. Don't fidget, maintain good posture, and hold eye contact. Small physical adjustments can send strong messages about your confidence.
  4. The Power of Preparation: It minimizes those "uhhhmmm" moments and helps you channel nerves into focused energy. Know your material backwards and forwards before important meetings.

Own the Room: Strategies for Strategic Communication
